Pran Krishan Sikand, 93, fondly known as Pran, will be conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award (2012) for the flawless performances he has delivered over the years.

Born in Old Delhi on 12 February 1920, his first film Yamla Jat was released in 1945. In Khandan, the second of his nearly 400 films, he played the hero with Noor Jehan. He has appeared in 22 films in pre-Partition India, including Khazanchi, Kaise Kahoon, and Khamosh Nigahen, all directed by Moti Gidwani..
The actor was also honoured the Padma Bhushan by the government.
